The origins of Jasmine Tea in China date back over 1700 years ago, when it was traded to China from Persia on the Silk Road during the Tang Dynasty. The actual process of scenting tea with jasmine happened much later in the Song and Ming Dynasties. In Chinese mythology, pearls shown with dragons often symbolize power, wisdom, or immortality. Our organic Jasmine Pearls start with fresh green tea that is hand rolled into tight "pearls," which are then dried and are finally scented multiple times with delicate jasmine blossoms. The minimal surface area of the tea pearls guarantees that they hold onto the delicate scent of jasmine flower, which can be more easily lost in conventional, unrolled tea.
